Create beautiful raised 3D messages in fondant, modelling chocolate, sugar paste, or gum paste. Unlike a traditional embosser, Pop Up Messages create lettering that pops up from your design, making them perfect for cake pops, cookies, cupcakes, cakes, and more.

Instructions

  • Roll a small amount of fondant and place it over the acrylic Pop Up Message.

  • Using a plastic rolling pin, roll firmly to press the fondant into the lettering.

  • Scrape or remove the excess fondant from the surface.

  • For a single-colour design, gently peel the fondant away from the acrylic, rotating as needed, then trim to fit your project.

Optional Two-Colour Technique

  • Press your first colour of fondant into the lettering and scrape away the excess.

  • If needed, gently wipe the surface with a damp paper towel until only the lettering is filled.

  • Allow the first colour to dry for 10–15 minutes.

  • Roll out your second colour of fondant and place it over the Pop Up Message.

  • The top layer should be tacky, not dry, so it grabs the lettering without sticking inside the acrylic.

  • Roll firmly, then gently peel the fondant away while rotating the disc.

  • If the fondant doesn't release, it may be too dry. Knead it a little more and try again.

Please Note: The two-colour effect is an advanced technique that takes practice to master. Results will vary depending on your fondant consistency and technique. If you're new to this method, we recommend starting with one of our simpler Pop Up Message designs.

Helpful Tips

  • Lightly dust the acrylic with cornstarch if your fondant is sticking.

  • Freshly opened fondant can sometimes be too soft or wet. Letting it rest for a few minutes often improves results.

  • Rotate the acrylic while peeling the fondant away instead of pulling straight back.

  • Medium: 1.45" at the longest point.

Care Instructions

  • Hand wash with warm soapy water.

  • Do not soak.

  • Do not place in the dishwasher.

  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.

  • A soft cloth, a small amount of toothpaste, or a slightly damp cloth with a tiny amount of rubbing alcohol can be used to clean fine details or reduce minor surface marks.

You can use any cake pop recipe with our molds! For the best results, we recommend a dough with a play-dough-like consistency, which makes shaping easy and helps your pops hold their form.

If your dough has a higher oil content, simply chill it before molding to help it keep its shape.
